Presentation by Rachel Gallagher, RN, CPNP, NCSN

Objectives:
By the end of the presentation, the attendee will be able to:

  1. Know the definition, treatment, and major types of diabetes.
  2. Know the required documentation necessary prior to the administration of insulin by pen.
  3. Identify the five rights of medication administration.
  4. Know the parts of an insulin pen.
  5. Know the important facts regarding insulin cartridges.
  6. Know the sequence of events in the administration of insulin by  pen.

     

    Instructions to Complete a Post-Assessment Certificate Course

    1. Login to http://wi.train.org using login and password.
    2. Select My Learning on the right.
    3. Then click on Current Courses.
    4. Click on the M (Manage) to the right of the title.
    5. Select Completed.
    6. It will then tell you that you need to complete a post-assessment, so click on Assessment.  When done, Close.
    7. If no certificate is offered, you are done.
    8. When a certificate is offered, go to TRAIN’s home page.
    9. Click on My Certificates on the right of the page.
    10. Then click on View All Certificates.
    11. To the right of the title in the Certificates column, click on the appropriate title.
    12. It will come up and you can print it.  It will stay in Certificates permanently.

    You can either print this entire page, or simply return to it later for these instructions.
